Channel surfing. My latest faves are 2 books written by Gary Renard. The most recent is called, “Your Immortal reality” and the previous one had the interesting title of, “ The Disappearance of The Universe ” Neither one of these books could be a considered a “channeled” work although they do deal with Gary's encounters with a couple of Ascended Masters who suddenly appeared before him to convey a message of quantum forgiveness. The teachings of these ascended masters are a clarification of “ A Course In Miracles ” which has been around for many years. I’m not at all an expert on “the course” (usually abbreviated as ACIM) but have known of its existence for sometime. Previously, whenever I glanced at the course in the bookstore, it seemed hard to grasp and lacking in that clarity which usually attracts me to books of this type. Thankfully these new books have helped me to approach the course with a better understanding. One thing that sets ACIM apart from many ...
Moving Pictures I do plan to go into some actual concepts soon, and would like to compare and contrast some of the assorted books mentioned (such as Seth and ACIM ) but right now I'm still doing my quick submissions which may at times appear to be nothing more than a splog. Last time I promised I’d say something about movies which have a spiritual or metaphysical message, so here’s a few blurbs. As I’ve said, I enjoyed What The Bleep Do We Know mostly because it was refreshing to see a film that dealt with stuff that I think about all the time. I have not seen the new version which came out recently, but I hear it’s got some new commentators and more footage with the great Fred Alan Wolf (as “Dr. Quantum.”) Honestly, I have not been so concerned lately with that whole “ Bridging Science & Spirit ” meme and I’ve already said I’m not a huge fan of Ramtha BUT I’m pretty sure Dr. Wolf (and the various scientists in the film) are probably smarter than I am (or at the very l...
Songs of The Arcturians Lots to cover this time but I'll try to make it somehow connected. First off, I don't much care for black-or-white thinking. I don't object to "cafeteria style" spirituality, since there seems to be nuggets of truth to be found in many different traditions, disciplines and fields of study. I was impressed by a recent PBS special featuring Dr. Wayne Dyer called The Power of Intention (based on his book of the same title.) The inspiration for this book came from a line by Carlos Castenada , whose many books deal with the Toltec tradition. Dr. Dyer also quoted from Don Miguel Ruiz , another proponent of the Toltec wisdom and a favorite of Oprah. I was suprised when Wayne mentioned that he is a longtime student of A Course In Miracles (or ACIM) since this is considered (gasp) a "channeled" work. I'm sure he knows about the Seth books too, though he did not mention these. Other sources and stories came from various Eastern t...
